Psalm 1 tells us that when we think about God’s Word throughout the day, we become like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields fruit in season and its leaf does not wither. The tree is grounded because its roots are deeply embedded in the earth. In 2025 at Life 96.5 we want to be deeply rooted as we find practical ways to think about God’s Word throughout our day. We invite you to join us on the Grounded Life journey!
As you listen to Life 96.5, you will hear a new passage focus each month. We will unpack the message and meaning in different ways. We encourage you to write the verses on note cards and place them around your home, car and office, so you can read and think about them as you go about your day.
Get signed up for emails and texts to encourage you on this journey. Each month receive a couple of emails about the passage when you complete the form below. If you would also like to receive short, encouraging texts during the Grounded Life journey, text the keyword GROUNDED to 41224.

The verses
During July, we are focusing on Psalm 37:3-4:
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
June verse: But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
May verse: Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:6-7
April verse: My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20
March verse: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:4-7
February verse: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” I John 4:7-10
January verse: “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.” Psalm 51:10-12
