God listens to you. He loves you, and He thinks about you every second of the day. When you do the same back to Him, He says life will go well because you will be grounded in a close relationship with Him. He is the secret to a grounded life!
Do you know the most important instruction God gives is found in Deuteronomy 6:4–7?
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is the only God. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
To break it down:
- Listen to who He says He is and get to know Him.
- Love Him with your everything … love Him in return with the love He pours into you!
- Think about Him and talk about Him throughout your day.
God wants you to know Him, not just know about Him. He describes Himself as “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin” (Exodus 34:6–7) Wow! He is all that and so much more.
When you seek to know His heart, you begin to trust His hand. Talking about Him becomes a natural part of your day!
Dear Lord, I want to know You more and more each day of my life. I want to live a life grounded in You. I want to love You with all my heart, all my soul and all my strength like Your Word instructs. I want to talk about You with my family and friends as I go about my day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
